Jovia Ferris has been a member of the Cooperman College Scholars team since September 2018. As the Associate Director of Operations, her work involves managing program logistics and operations; overseeing components of the Cooperman Scholarship application and new Scholar onboarding processes; and supporting Scholars with financial aid applications. Jovia attended The College of New Jersey where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with minors in Public Health and Marketing. Prior to joining the team, she created an annual scholarship for students in the TRiO Upward Bound program at Mercer County Community College.
Isaiah Jones-London is a recent Rutgers Business School earning a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a minor in Social Justice. Isaiah is also a proud Cooperman Scholar Alumni representing Cohort 2023. His college journey has shaped his values and goals as a marketing professional who is passionate about diversity and social impact.
Shanice Maynard joined Cooperman College Scholars in August 2019. As Director of College Success, a key element of Shanice’s role is understanding roadblocks that hinder Scholars’ pathway to earning a college degree. Shanice engages with Cooperman Scholars through various outreach methods, providing direct support while leveraging on-campus resources and relationships. Additionally, Shanice oversees the Cohort Mentor Program, a faculty-led advising model intended to provide formal mentorship to Scholars attending Partner institutions for their first two years of college. Prior to joining Cooperman College Scholars, Shanice spent her career in Higher Education serving in various student-facing roles as an Academic Advisor, First- Year Student Adjunct Faculty, and the Internship Liaison to tenure faculty members serving as mentors within the Lubin School of Business at Pace University-NYC. A proud native of Camden, NJ, Shanice believes the college is transformative. Shanice is a double alum of Pace University and earned a B.A in Applied Psychology & Human Relations and M.S in Counseling.
Keiran has been with Cooperman College Scholars since September 2021, serving as the Director of College Prep Programs. Keiran is responsible for overseeing all elements of the pre-college Scholar experience. This includes managing new Scholar recruitment, advising Scholars successfully through college selection, application and college enrollment, senior year programming, and the Pre-College Summer Academy. Keiran has extensive experience as an educator and mentor across various college advising and career success programs. He attended Franklin and Marshall College, where he majored in English and later earned a Masters of Arts in Higher Education – Student Access from the University of Michigan. Keiran has a passion for educational access, equality and equity, writing, and everything that goes into developing young adults. He has worked in Thessaloniki, Greece, where he provided college counseling and personal statement support for nearly 200 students applying for post-secondary education and summer programs in the United States!
Twinkle Morgan is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Cooperman College Scholars. Prior to launching Cooperman College Scholars, her passion for the issues surrounding college access and degree attainment for underserved communities led her to develop and launch The Fellowship Initiative (TFI), a JP Morgan Chase & Co. program dedicated towards the expansion of academic and professional opportunities for young men of color. As founding Executive Director of TFI, Twinkle established TFI’s New York operations in 2010, creating the blueprint for its successful replication across three other US regions in 2014. Prior to this role, she served as the founding Director of Development with Uncommon Schools, a nationally recognized charter management organization focused on starting and managing outstanding charter public schools that aim to close the achievement gap. Twinkle served as Uncommon Schools’ Director of Development for just under five years, raising more than $27 million in private and public grants. From 2000 to 2005, she was a Vice President with JPMorgan Private Bank, managing relationships with high net-worth families and foundations with combined assets of over $700 million. Before working on Wall Street, Twinkle worked for three years as a Strategy Consultant with Accenture focused on logistics and supply chain management. Her work in the early years of her career included the development of college support services for the National Association of Black Engineers (NSBE) and Georgia Tech’s Office of Minority Educational Development (OMED). A native of Louisiana, she completed a B.S. in Mathematics from Spelman College and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology as a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Scholar, supporting Johnson Space Center’s flight simulation team. Twinkle earned an MBA from The Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Robby Motz became an official member of the Cooperman College Scholars team in March 2017. As the Associate Director of Scholarships and Pre-College Advising, Robby works with both high school and college scholars, first by advising students during the college application process, then by distributing scholarship awards once students are in college. His goal is to help students pursue their passions, while reducing the financial burden of pursuing a college education. Robby grew up just outside of Los Angeles, in Burbank, California, with a background in media and the performing arts. After working as an actor for a few years, he moved to New York City and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing at Columbia University’s School of General Studies.
Vaughn has been with Cooperman College Scholars since January 2021 as the Data Analytics and Insights Manager. He performs data analysis, database management, and oversees the organization’s data governance strategy to promote data-driven processes and operations. Hailing from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Vaughn holds a BS in Economics from the University of Delaware and an MS in Quantitative Methods & Modeling from CUNY’s Baruch College. He completed a program evaluation fellowship with the University of New Mexico Evaluation Lab and has over a decade of experience working with non-profit organizations including the Delaware Arts Alliance, Nehemiah Gateway, Santa Fe Forward, and the New Mexico Statistical Analysis Center. He is an NCAN-certified college advisor and is an experienced Salesforce administrator with a Trailhead rating of Ranger.
Andrea Walker has worked in education for over a decade, focusing on non-profit operations, development, strategy, and special projects. Most recently she was the Director of Partnership Development at the Achievement Network where she was responsible for the cultivation and growth of strong partnerships with schools and districts in the Mid-Atlantic region. Previously she worked in external affairs at the Noble Network of Charter Schools in Chicago, as the Special Projects Manager at Citizen Schools NY-NJ, and held research and instructional positions as a graduate student at Loyola University Chicago. Andrea earned a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Philosophy from Rutgers University and a MA in American Government from Loyola University Chicago where she is an ABD in Political Science.
